Here at Coverdrone, we receive many questions from customers about our recreational drone insurance policies. We’ve answered the most common ones right here – take a look and see if you can learn anything new!

Q: Why do I need to register?

A: The registration is free, and it creates your Coverdrone account so that you can log back in later to choose a period of cover.

Q: What does ‘public liability’ cover?

A: Public liability covers damage to third party property and/or persons.

Q: Do you cover my drone and equipment?

A: Yes, if you choose to cover your equipment. We offer public liability cover as standard; however, you can opt to add any equipment onto the policy if you wish.

Q: Do you cover the drone when it is in flight?

A: Yes. We cover the drone whilst it is in flight.

Q: Do you cover the drone if it is stolen?

A: Yes, if you have taken the necessary precautions to ensure that it is not easily accessible i.e locking an unattended vehicle and leaving the item out of sight.

Q: Is cover provided for flying over water?

A: Yes, we just ask that you fully comply with the local/national aviation regulations.

Q: Will I be covered for a flyaway or disappearance?

A: Yes, policy coverage would extend to disappearance which would include the term ‘flyaway’. Again, we just ask that you fully comply with the local/national aviation regulations.

Q: Can you provide cover when we use the drone abroad?

A: Yes, we provide worldwide cover subject to certain excluded territories. Please ensure that you comply with any local/national aviation regulations.

Q: If somebody else flies my drone are they covered?

A: Under a recreational policy, the single named policyholder is the only person that is covered to fly the drone.

Q: Am I covered if I fly at night?

A: Yes, we just ask that you fully comply with the local/national aviation regulations.
